What is Occupational Therapy?

It is often mistaken as career counselling, but it is a form of therapy that focuses on improving a person’s ability to perform and cope with all activities for daily living, work and engaging in leisure pursuits.

Hand and upper limb therapy

is a specialised type of rehabilitation usually performed by an occupational therapist. It is  with patients who have injured or suffer from conditions affecting their hands and/or upper extremities.

Hand Therapist

Hand therapists work closely with referring doctors
(general practitioners, orthopaedic surgeons and/or plastic surgeons) to obtain the best outcome possible.

They make use of assessment tools and specific treatment principles to monitor and treat people with hand conditions.

Testimonials from Patients

Torn ligaments on one finger, After the operation I felt I should have just chopped off the finger. Tanya assured me that it can be fixed and she was highly professional, patient and motivated throughout. I have recovered all thanks to hard work and effort put into therapy.

If you are looking for an Hand Therapist, you can stop right now, because you won't find ANYONE better than Tanya. I honestly don't have enough words to describe how wonderful she is. SO GOOD at what she does, with a heart of gold. (I swear she might actually be an angel.) She cares so much about her patients and it's so clear that she is extremely passionate about helping people! I began Occupational Therapy with Tanya after surgery to my finger due to a rather complicated fracture... I did not think I would have the range of motion I have now.. . But thanks to her, I do!! I have felt so safe and looked after. I highly recommend her, a million times over!!

Tanya Coats is an exceptional Hand Therapist who is friendly, patient and very competent. I started therapy late into my recovery and wasn’t sure I would have full mobility in my right hand after my accident. At the first consult she set realistic expectations however delivered far beyond. Highly Recommended!

My son had torn ligaments and tendons in his thumb from a cricket injury. We started Occupational Therapy 4 days after his operation to reattach everything. We have had excellent results, far above what was expected for movement and strength. I have also started treatment for rheumatoid arthritis deformity correction. Tanya is amazing! Thank you for giving back hope to a hopeless situation.
